Drop links on my Avant need replacing. Help.

    Hi,

I'm in the process of replacing the rose-jointed drop links and track-rod ends with the standard ball-jointed ones. The rose-joints are unacceptable for every day use as they offer no lubrication at all. Also, one of the metal drop-links had snapped; probably due to over tightening by whoever fitted them.

Should I use plastic drop-links or metal ones? Are the RS2 ones different/better or does it make no difference as to what I fit?

The track-rod ends are now missing their original adjusters; do I need to get these from the main dealer's or will GSF (for example) do them?

Thanks in advance. Also, give me a shout if you want to make me an offer for those rose-jointed track-rod ends.

hi i think the metal drop links are alot better than the plastic ones, and that their is no difference between s2/rs2 droplinks.Their about £27each from ecp, also they sell the track rod ends seperate as long as the adjuster part has not seized!

AFAIK the RS2 metal ones are different. Although i was only going by comparing my old S2 ones to RS2 ones by sight, it may have been an optical illusion but they looked slightly thicker.
