    Brake Booster

I have a 1995 90 which I'm putting an AAN into... The 90 V6 used vacuum for the brake booster and the S4 I5 used power steering fluid from the pump.

I don't want to swap out brake booster and what ever else I may need unless I have to.

I have read that some Diesel motors use an external electric pump to supply vacuum to the brake booster? Does anyone know if any VW/Audi that had a pump?

Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated

I'm using vaacum booster on my AAN, have loads of friends doing the same. If you are not LFB fan, there is no need for additional pump. AAN on liftoff generates enough vaacum to make normal braking. If you wanna sleep calm, you can add two vaacum "grapes" from car with A/C somewhere in the trunk, or under the bonnet. I've added vaacum resevoir from differential lock. It really saves enough vaacum to make few brakings. Don't forget to put valves everywhere boost can get.

It sounds like I need to use the few vacuum lines off the back of the AAN IM or add a new hook up. which could be interesting.

@kwlw: would you have a pic of your setup?

The hose coming off the booster is mor than twice the size of the two brass hook-ups on the back of the IM. It just doesn't seem good enough.

Would anyone know where the best place to insert a nipple on a AAN IM for vacuum brake booster?

Or if any Audi/VW diesel ever came with an electric pump for this reason?
