    Superflex vs Powerflex

Can anybody comment on the difference in quality of superflex and powerflex bushes?

I think superflex were supposed to be the better, something about them having grooved metal sleeve to aid lubrication. I think you can only get powerflex for the cast a-arms (larger bushings). I have a set i will be fitting at the weekend if all goes to plan.

I have powerflex for the forged arms (smaller bushes), and they have been grooved to aid with lubrication-- For all it helps, they sound like my back first thing on a morning LOL and need lubricating regulary to reduce the creak to a minimum

I had no end of problems with the powerflex sweaking, thats why they now have the grooves since they had to re design them 3 times to minimise it

do you guys with Powerflex bushes get over the initial creaking etc? I need to replace my bushes and i think i will go with powerflex all round as i dont want to be having to change the oem ones again in 2 years time. Are the fit and forget or do i need to keep looking after them with lube? Also do they start to soften up over time and wear like the originals?

Any comments and advice appreciated - i have a good deal on a full set but before i accept I'd like to know the pros and cons.

          Cheers

Seeing as I've got the Bilstein/HR set waiting to go on the car, I figure it would probably be a good idea to change out the bushes. But I could do without the mice in the suspension!

@ David - where you getting the set? Or is it a 1-time offer What bushes are included?

I've had Powerflex bushes on my car for a couple of years. The harder (black) front bushes do still creak a bit. Like Greg, I had a number of different designs from Powerflex until I was happy with the bush. The rears (purple) have no issues at all. The issue is largley due to the harder material used in the front bushes. I was advised that the harder material was used on the front because the early bushes had failed with the softer material (purple stuff). I'd recommend them as a replacement for the OE bushes.

I had to change my powerflex bushes three times (support from powerflex UK was great)..so i think ive been through all versions. I can safely say the latest type dont squeak or shrink with age as the previous ones did.
ps. i have no experiance of superflex bushes.
Pps. beware of sellers who try to fob off old powerflex stock..
                regards

Yeah Proven are great, they do what they say they are going to and even better, their prices are top notch. I got a good deal on my DS2500's from them and cos I was desperate for them they shipped on a saturday delivery without altering the final total

Beware of the purple powerflex bushes since these are the old design and there have been cases of these wearing out in 6months. They are made from the back poly now and the metal insert has two groove all the way round and a spiral groove aswell to help keep it lubricated
