    Bu***r Steering pump

Hey guys got one for you.

Just been to see amate of mine and on the way I overtook a van. After slowing down the steering went very heavy (infact nigh off imposible to turn without being he-man).

Got to my mates slower than planned and looked under the bonnet.

The belt for the steering pump has slipped and is now upside down (i.e. V shape pointing out not into the groove!!! )

How or what would have caused that?????

    Cheers

Either the belt was not tight enough in the first place or it was worn to excess

Sorted for now. SLackened off the pump, turned the belt around and tightened back up. The belt looks okay. No excesive wear must have just come loose over time.

Azman your lucky it didnt snap and rip half the engine out.

My step dad had his belt go while he was doing over a ton on the M5, it took out almost all the other belts and destroyed the aircon...
Audi billed him £3300 to repair it all ad thats not including the aircon.

Lucky me then. Went for a drive last night and all was honky dorey. In fact better than it was before. So good news for now. Think I need to get all the belts changed thought.
