    Wishbone nut & bolt loose

Well i found the cause of my damn rattle, the passenger side back wishbone bolt moves foward and back about 2-3mm

I noticed it when i was putting my undertray on today as the passenger wheel moves and causes a knocking sound.

I think theres a link on MikeS2 site for torque settings so i'll tighten it tomorrow after checking.

    two questions

    1) any idea how this could have happened? The nut is solid and not loose.

    2) Well i just splashed out on some forged wishbones is it still worth replacing the pressed ones with the forged ones?

I would check the bush for wear. Sounds like the bolt / nut combo has not been done up completely.

If you change the wishbones, you'll need ball joints as well.

which brings me on to my steering arm nuts by the bulk head that came lose theres a post on here somewhere ..

nuts an bolts do come undone its a fact . things get broke things wear away.

an well i think we are all aware these s2 s are getting a wee bit old now and if like me your driving around in well a well used one you find more than just lose bolts ,,

its always good to find a cheep fix though .. like a lose bolt

wouldnt be your whiteline making extra vibration bouncing your rear end around a corner would it

steering arm bolts coming loose?! i'd be concerned there given they are meant to be lock nuts!!! Age and dirt make them harder to undo not easier!!!

This could be what I'm hearing on mine. Somebody told me that it was the brake pads rattling around as it stops when I brake. Its really loud though which makes me think it could be something similar to what you guys are experiencing.
I've had a good look and can't see anything that's blatanly loose so the search continues.
