I was talking to someone recently about a suspected wheel bearing on my car and the guy said its sometimes difficult to locate these because the noise can travel through the prop and all sorts.
Not the wheel bearing

Having the same problem, noise disapeared when turning left so I replaced the left hand side wheel bearing and its still there!!
What sort of symptons do you have?
A mechaninc mate said it could be other suspension noise coming up through the body.
Got a funny feeling at the moment that mine could be down to the brake calipers -

I got a noise that comes from front wheel once i apply brakes hard and release while rolling still. it travels through to my steering wheel.
Ive upgraded my brakes since, new wheel bearing, new drive shaft and new inner and outer cv joints, new anti roll bar, new bushes, new subframe bushes, new drop link arms, new top mounts, new koni suspension, and the noise is still there.
took it to two garages and none of them can find a fault, although they agree something is not right.
go figure. After spending over 2 - 3 grand i gave up and put up with it untill it makes it self clear.ABY Coupe
