    Springs for yellow adjustable Koni's ??

    Hi Guy's

    Bought some new yellow adjustable Koni's for my S2 "3B" and want to know what spings are good for my car.
    Want to haw a good mix from sport and comfort.
    Don't want to have back problems.
    I have 18 " wheels mounted on the car and 225/40/18 rubber.
    I have now a lowering of 35mm and i think the this is the max.
    Whant to have it a bit higher (about 15mm).

    Hi
    It looks to me that your car has been lowered more than 35 mm.
    A simple way to check it is to measure the distance between the center of the wheel and the mudguard. For the standard setting this is 345mm at the front and 360mm at the rear. So you can calculate.

    I'm going to install H&R 25-30mm springs in a couple of weeks, I'll keep you posted on the results.

      Peter p - is that the (mudguard) wheelarch you measure to? I will do this in the next couple of days - sounds like a good way to measure lowered cars for comparison.

      I have H&Rs just now and the part no. is in another thread so I could compare how much mine has dropped.

      Those 18" wheels should have been on the car as standard - another awesome looking set of wheels

            All the H&R springs I have seen lower 40 mm. Can you tell me the part numbers on your springs. 25-30 mm sounds good.

              Doug:
              Yes, I mean the wheelarch, good idea to compare different makes and types of springs.

              The partnumber I ordered is H&R 29658-2. According to specification it should lower 25 mm at the front and 30mm at the rear. To be confirmed soon.

              H&R offers the following options:
              * height adjustable, front 20-60mm, rear 30-70mm partnr 29503-2
              * Cup-kit springs +shocks, front and rear 50mm partnr 29939-1 (for 50mm struts) or 29939-2 (for 55mm struts)
              * springs, front 25 mm, rear 30mm, partnr 29658-2

                These sound like adjustable coil-over kits. Very nice but too much for me just now.

                  Just to check, I went out and measured the ride height on my car. I got Front- 356mm and rear - 349 mm. As far as I know, my car is bone stock.

                  If anybody else has done this I'd be curious to compare numbers. Even or perhaps especially people who have lowered their cars.

                      Jaap,
                      Either you drive an Allroad or the figures you mention are measured from ground level to wheelarch.
                      I suggest you check it again: center of the wheel to wheelarch.

                        It will be interesting to hear what the numbers are when you do like Peter suggested.

                            Peter,

                            I am curious where you got the "standard" number. I have never really seen it anywhere.

                              Since my S2 still has his original springs and shocks, I took that as a reference.
                              Taken in account some measurement inaccuracies, Jaap's S2 is lowered 40mm, front and rear.
