    Bad vibrations......!!

Hi, hoping someone can help here:
First noticed a very bad wheel(?) vibration when accelerating hard from about 60-80mph, there was no vibration below 60 and none over 80, but during the 60-80 bit it was really quite violent.
Next time I had the vibration it was much worse, almost wrenching the wheel from my hands BUT this time, I was accelerating hard around a roundabout (so turning right in effect as I don't like going the wrong way around roundabouts )
Anyway, I've searched the forum but to no avail - no one seems to have reported a similar happening.
As far as I see it, I unloaded the offside front wheel therefore allowing it to wobble about, but there is no play in the bearing, the track rod end also looks good and the wishbone bushes are only 3 or 4 months old (although fitted before I got the car).
The only thing I can think of is engine mount - what's the best way of testing it? Or could it be subframe bush?
Or am I barking up the wrong tree entirely!!??
p.s the car did pull to the left quite a lot until I swapped the two fron Dunlops over, it now pulls to the right identical tyres too..........hmmm......

If the steering wheel is wrenching itself from your hand I would suspect something in the front end. Maybe a CV joint acting up.
My bad, I did not read the entire post. It sounds like the tires are the cause of your pulling issue. You may need to replace one or both front tires. Try swapping them to the rear to see if the condition changes.

Ok, thanks. Will swap the tyres around and see what happens!
What happens when subframe or engine mounts are worn? Does this affect handling?
      Thanks

I have had this before with a set of cheap tyres that came on my RS4 wheels.... Changed the tyres and hey presto it went!

I had a similar problem with my old 80 sports - though not to the extent of hands being ripped off the wheel. Essentially I'd 'curbed' the car taking a corner a wee bit too fast.... tracking was way out. If it's the same problem - get it sorted soon - you'll be amazed how quickly the rubber disappears... Car also pulled to the right when braking hard in a dangerous sort of way
