  • filling hydraulics after complete strip down

Reconnected all the hoses etc filled the bottle up and as much of the system as possible before running the car, then started it up and the pump made some horrible whining noise which eventually quietened downafetr filling the bottle with another litre of fluid.

problem is the amount of air bubbles that keep coming through is unreal, the oil level never really seems to moove that much.

does anyone have any tips on filling/ bleeding the system??

There is something you have to do to bleed the rack, something like moving the steering from side to side without hitting the end stops.

Some cars you have to do it with the wheels off the ground so there isnt any load, dont know if that applies to Audis though. Never done one before, only Hondas

Front Wheels off ground...Five turns lock to lock is the procedure I believe (worked for me!)..expect some nasty graunching noises as you do it!
          then top up fluid.
