  • Outer CV joint with ABS ring on Coupe quattro 20V ?

Hi guys, i have problem i want to know, wich OEM number fits directly on 7A CQ 20V ?

Front is only 1 number 895 498 099 D so there is no problem

but rear is 4 numbers in ETKa :

    893 498 099 M
    893 498 099 P
    893 498 099 MX
    893 498 099 PX

I think that ABS problem will be in different CV joints in different diameter or lenght even the ABS teeth will be same. Any ideas?

    Thanks lot

there are 2 numbers as the X stand for eXchange parts in the VW/audi parts number system. still the M and P to check for but probably model year difference.
Not sure on the audi's with 7A engine but I know on corrado's there are different teeth count on the 4x100 and 5x100 cars.
Maybe look at the common replacement parts brands and check OEM refrence. Maybe your lucky and M and P codes are interchangable.

looks like both M and P model have following sizes:

      fitting Position:Wheel Side
      Outer gearing wheel side:33
      Internal Teeth, wheel side:30
      Number of Teeth, ABS ring:45
      Seal Diameter [mm]:53
      Outer diameter [mm]:88

        But front is different
        • Outer gearing wheel side: 38
        • Internal Teeth, wheel side: 30
        • Number of Teeth, ABS ring: 45
        • Seal Diameter [mm]: 59,5
        • Outer diameter [mm]: 90
        • Machined: with groove in inner part (inside)
        • Thread Size: M16x1.5

I think that front and rear should be almost same, because when shouldnt, there should be problem with a ABS sensor. Maybe i am wrong, but diameter and abs teeth should be the same on all 4 wheels?

Front diameter can be different if the hubs are different. There is no clear indication on abs ring diameter. But 45/teeth per revolution front and back will give the same pulses front and rear

I am confused, but its logic....But when is smaller diamater and same count of teeth, there will be a problem of different speed and gap between tooth?

Sensor and abs ecu "read gaps".
Size of gaps and bigger linear speed at the edge of the bigger abs ring, is not relevant in this application.

One wheel revolution is still 45 teeth passed in front of the sensor, does not matter if the abs ring is 5cm or 50cm in diameter.

Like 60-2 trigger wheels, small one on the crack or big one on the flywheel will give the same result.

Ok, thank you for explanation. So the gap between teeth is important. Different (not same) gap may cause a problems, right?

Number of gaps are important. All gaps on the ring must be equal. If one tooth is missing, or the ring is cracked, that can cause a problem.
