    Forged wishbone retrofit on Cabriolet?

I need to change the bushes on the front wishbones for the 2.8 80 FE Cabriolet, i'm thinking it should be possible to fit forged ones but will my current lower ball joints be compatible or is there some bite back to frustrate the process? Any help appreciated chaps.

Lower ball joints are different for the forged wishbones: both will fit but you may find they slip if you use the pressed arm joints on the forged arms; note the knurled face that mates with the bottom of the forged wishbone to try to prevent them slipping in service.

Thanks Alex, so i need the bottom one great From memory i'm sure you've bought some of this type before and they went south on you very quickly i seam to recall. Where's the best place to buy them from? I'm sure they were TRW but some of them are questionable quality.

Guessing if i order lower ball joint from Audi as if it's for a 90 20v or early S2 i should get the right ones from them but at a price?

TRW are OEM but as far as I know they are NLA now. I have used Delphi last time, they are average quality but have survived thus far....

Just found these ( 893 407 366 E ) of the 68k 90 20v i had, they should be perfect condition especially as it was owned by a disabled person for years. They should be the correct ones,...... right Alex?

Been researching and these are the ones above that give more camber, will they be fine in the cabriolet and can still be set at the correct factory camber setting?

I would say that pic looks right, it's got the knurled bits to grip the bolts and the webbed/reinforced bits at the joint.

100% Looks right to me too John, for the reasons you mention, but as these allow for greater camber adjustment which is great for a track car, it's not how i want the cabriolet set up.Just wondering if they will still adjust correctly to factory cabriolet spec?
