RS2 what shocks should I buy

Hi I am in the process of restoring my RS2 I want to put road going shock absorbers on the ca can anyone advise me what type are best suited.

Bilstein b6 or koni adjustable are the usual routes with original springs, not sure who made original items, maybe sachs boge?

I wanted to steer away from adjustable shocks and replace them with bog standard shocks if possible not because of the cost but the originality.

I think originals were Boge. If they are all working and not leaking I would leave them alone. Mine has all original springs and shocks and they are working fine. Do a bounce test at each corner.

I cleaned all mine down to bare metal and re sprayed them. They all look like new! The originals are well made and last well.

I fitted Koni's with standard springs and am very pleased with the results. As above, the originals are Boge.

Is ride the same as the boge or stiffer?

Bilstien B6 with standard springs works well, stiffer than original but not to much effect on comfort just feels better in corners

Worth getting hold of some spare top caps, as the old ones are likely to need cutting off to remove the damper inserts from the bodies.

They are adjustable but I have mine set pretty much like the originals, the damping is very good.
