  • differences between 893 422 065 D and 893 422 065 K

Lads, are there any differences between these two steering racks? Except for the "inlet", which both have at different locations. I can't find any info in ETKa.
    Currently, I have 893 422 065 D but I want to have another in spare and found 893 422 065 K.
    Many thanks

I used a rack I removed from a 1994 2.6 V6 FWD Coupe when I replaced the Servotronic one on my 3B, I had it rebuilt before fitting it and have kept it as a spare for my RS2 after breaking my old S2.

It's on the shelf in my workshop so I'll check it's part No tomorrow for you while I'm in there checking out some other stuff and trying to find things... I'm always trying to find something currently!

My new workshop is fantastic but when you have as many spares as me from breaking cars moving house causes chaos, I'm getting there though.

Here's the RHD rack I took from a 1994 2.6 FWD Coupe, went straight on my 3B after being rebuilt...

K Simmonds Kit, so I guess, there shouldn be any mount difference or steering ratio difference between that mine from 7A and that from V6 80 92´.. Only one hose inlet is in a different place...

The 1994 V6 had the quick rack like any ABY S2 or RS2, I'm not sure when they introduced it,1992 would probably be too early though.

I don't recall having to change any of the hoses, though I did have the 1994 Coupe to hand so may of... It was over ten years ago

There will obviously be some differences between LHD and RHD cars.

Thinking about it I doubt if I did use any hoses from the 1994 V6 as they're all different

Yeah, I want to substitute my steering rack with that V6 one, doesn't really matter if it's a quick rack or not, as my initial wasn't a quick rack at all. I will keep my non-leaking as a spare and this one I will give this to a refurb company.
