Oil or gas shocks for comfort?

Hi all, while preparing my 93" Cabriolet for it's APK (MOT equivalent in the Netherlands), I found out that I need to replace my shocks. The OEM-number is 8G0 413 503 B, but that doesn;t specify if they're only oil filled or also have gas in them.

I'm looking to make my Cabriolet a comfortable cruiser again, and I'm not going to drive it in a sporty fashion (the automatic transmission makes sure of that ). Does anyone know what the 80/Coupe/Cabriolet originally came with? What shocks do you recommend for my goals? The price difference between gas and oil-shocks is almost nothing.

Can't really go wrong with Bilstiens, even if it's just their basic B4 range. I also rate Sachs stuff highly as well. I've been looking at shocks for my B3 saloon as I've some S2 springs to fit and feel it would be a good time to replace at least the front's, will probably go with B4's as they've never let me down.

In the end I went for Sachs gas-filled struts, and they perform great. Not harsh at all, and they feel quite consistent. Thanks all for the recommendations
