    Front cambers

Can anybody confirm which way is minimum and maximum for camber adjustments for the bottom front lower joints…..somehow I can’t see any big difference when the slotted holes are pushed one way then the other??
    big thanks to all?

    Here's the factory geometry info...

This is for B3's so only the front axle info applys to B4's.

      Hi thanks for the data?
the small issue I have is which way does the adjustment move to decrease the camber setting.
I've had the bottom joint freed off and can’t see which is the min and max for the camber adjustment
      big thanks for your reply??

The ball joint is moved in towards the center of the car to decrease negative camber.

You want to aim for 1 degree of negative camber each side, I find this give's the best handling without scrubbing the inside's of the tyre's off too much.

Bare in mind if you move the camber it will also alter the toe angle so both need to be adjusted together and you need to do both sides at the same time to do this correctly. The job can't be done at home, you can get it close using string and a level if you've got a perfectly flat surface to work on, however close is not good enough.

The geometry can only be done properly using four wheel alignment kit and by someone who know how to use it correctly, which is easier said than done, a lot of tyre places are useless.

What is the issue you're having, are you trying to replace a ball joint?

Thanks that perfectly understandable with the ball joint adjustment
I've had both front suspension’s in bits and replaced front subframe bushes etc. But after re assembly I couldn’t see any big difference when I moved the bottom joints to decrease the camber.
I’ve Set the toe easily enough but the camber is proving to be less straight forward
at the moment the cambers are equal at a little over 1degree neg.
it drives ok but I guess a visit to a wheel alignment shop will adjust the fine lines.
          massive thanks ??

No problem, happy to try and help.

Just over a degree of negative camber is fine, 1.2 degrees is the limit following the data. Sounds like you know what you're doing, but as you say a visit to decent alignment place is essential to get things spot on.

If you're close to Bristol I can recommend a really great place to go, they don't just get within tolerances they set it up as close to bang on as possible.
