    Steering Bush replacement

    Hello Forum,

Has anyone replaced or found a source for the bushes circled in this diagram?

Inner steering (track rod) bushes, attaching the rods to the rack.

They look pretty generic, but in Audi terms are part of the track rods, which I would happily replace entirely, but are unobtainuim, so I’d prefer new bushes over aftermarket rods, given I’ve already changed all the fittings from
the rods to the hub carriers on the other ends of the steering rods…

    Kind Regards,

    Jay

Yes. Alex at Ultra makes a good set but measure what you have as there are two sizes.

I didn't manage to get hold of Error404.

          Would these be any good:
          https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/354742793783

...I actually came across them searching for the tie rods again...

Looks like an 80 Shore PU bush:
          10mm ID
          24mm OD
          26mm Height
14mm "Other height" (presumably the chamfered bit outside the fitting area)

My tie rods are 811419802K (left) and 894419802A (right). Probably a 1998/1999 version, or the later version if there are different versions of the same part. Tractor Dave you mentioned two sizes. Do you know what these are and when they changed? I can only find one set of part numbers for the tie rods in RHD.

Not so keen on the red, but beggars can't be choosers I guess...

Sorry, can't help further. I know there are two sizes as the first set Alex sent me didn't fit!
i suggest you remove the rods, drill out the old bushes and measure up so you can confirm the size you need. I have spare second had ones here if it all goes wrong.
