    Special tool??

Going home tomorrow, with a bit of luck might get time to fit my h&r suspention kit. Just wondered if i needed a special tool to remove the shock absorber inserts? I remember changing the shocks on my '91 fwd coupe years ago and remember using a stiltson (bit rough but was in a hurry iirc lol) If so what do i need and where can i get it
Also am i correct in saying you need a peg type socket to remove the top strut bearing (whitch i think i have if same as fwd audi)

I normally use a big pair of stillsons and a vice to do the struts. I've not had problem so far. Just make sure you've got a new set to replace them with.
Yes. You do need a tool for the top mounts.

Now corrected. I meant a set of caps for the struts. They can get a bit mangled with the stillsons.

xgordyx - where did you get your springs from?

Am looking to get some myself and trying to find a va/ha set as that seems to be the best set up.

          Cheers

Ye thought it was them but wasn't sure cheers bud

Taffy, i got the cup kit (h&r springs and bilstien shocks (think its bilstiens, not at home yet so can't check)) but they do spring kits too http://www.hrsuspension.co.uk/p/HRsb...PartType=SUH04

Took less than a week to arrive to the highlands of scotland, there is cheeper places outside the uk to get them but i just went for mainland option to save a bit of worries.
Also when i ordered it said i'd recieve a confromation email, never got this, thought i'd mention this incase you thought the order never went through and reordered lol
