wire connector on steering bar

The steering bar on my 3B S2 is broken and I got used ABY unit. They look the same but on the old one there is a wire connected to it but on ABY unit there isn't any connector. Can I replace it like this and what was that wire that was connected to it before?

Do you mean the steering rack? I'll hazard a guess its something to do with the servotronic steering, most people unplug it anyway so no great loss.
