  • Spring rates

Can anyone give me some rough spring rates for my short sport conversion(stripped interior, kevlar panels,6 speed box and AAN engine),I spoke to someone at Dialynx and they said in their silver race car they were using 250lbs in the rear and 350lbs in the front, does this sound about right?

From my investigations into S2 springs the springs front and rear are about the same rate. This was calculated using coil spring theory and measurements rather than having them tested. The S2 is a heavier car though...

I would have thought that the rears should be a fair bit lower due to not having to prop up the AAN lump

My thoughts too but the rears measured 5% stiffer than the fronts.

Andy - old thread I know, but what measurements did you end up with?

Would be interested to know - thanks.

I think the details are contained in a thread "front springs on the rear" or something like that...

            And here they are... Linky.
