How much PAS fluid does the servo system hold?

Like the topic. How much PAS fluid does the system hold?

To my limited knowledge, about 1 liter.

Then once again the fantastic people at my local stealer have done it. I asked for new fluid and got a 0,5 litre bottle. It was expensive as well. Oh well.

Thats strange.... I thought that they only sold 1 litre bottles of the green stuff....
and don't remember it being very expensive either... best you check what they have given you, and go and get some more.....!

The bottle I got had text in German only on it.

the stuff you need is called G 004 00 M2 its the upgraded version of the G 002 00

Should cost about £7.00 for 1l from VW or Audi iirc.

Also as far as i am aware its only sold in 1L sizes.

Yup mine was £5.67 + VAT in the 1L

And the system takes about 1 litre? So I don't need to buy another bottle.

Depends what your doing i think, if your filling it from dry, i.e. dry rack pump and pipes it might be more than 1L (I dont honestly know though)

I changed a pipe no so long ago and used almost a whole liter just for that and the pump.

If i were you id get 2L just to be safe.

hmm need to do this myself so I'll measure it as I pour in. I have primed the rack with some so it might not be totally accurate of course

My reciept said G 002 00 something so it might be the right stuff anyway.

Bottle lable reads:

Startol
ZHS-SERVO
Öl für Zentralhydraulik und Servolenkgetriebe
(Dart nicht für Automatik-Getriebe verwendet werden!)
Müller Mineralöle etc etc

leads me to believe that this stuff will do the job just fine.

And today I got a litre bottle of G004000 M2 instead.

According to the dealer they've just changed supplier of this stuff so the PAS fluid will be a bit cheaper now.

i bought some M616 oil from GSF today (same as audi just direct from the manufacturer and the guy said either .7ltr or .9ltr normally on audis.
