    Stiffer...

OEM if you want comfort, but they will need fitting with a big press...not really a diy job.

Powerflex can be fitted diy with a little time and effort, do the top mount as well.

If your going for a full refurb, get all the bits you need eg shocks/springs, brake lines, discs/pads...and do the job in one go or you'll be under the car once a month just after pay day with the new bits!
    Carlos.

On the look out for less bits for my s2 saloon project. Now supporting myself by shooting for my food. www.airgunforum.co.uk

Have a set of OE wishbone bushes for sale if you're interested. They were bought from VAG parts a year ago.

Don't get squeeky Powerflex bushes when Superflex are available.

It's just a shame they don't do the larger bushes for my front subframes. I had to fit Powerflex crap.

I have installed powerflex all over the car, and I keep hearing the warnings about squeeking and stuff, but I have been driving with mine for two years now, and not a whisper of a sound, so I really have to ask the question if people are mounting them iaw the instructions? Or they are stated as so easy to assemble that everyone with a spanner try to make them fit, but really not have the skills or knowledge to do it right? Copper grease on the bolt, copper grease the trunnion, teflon washers on each side, bolt on and torque. And you have a rock steady handling and not that extreme increase in noise as many states. If You already are putting 18" or maby 17" with a normal quality tire they will make more noise then the OEM bushings can put to silence.

So from I will definatly give my thumbs up for the powerflex, and when remember: if You have a car with worn bushes it wont help to change only half of the worn ones, the the new ones will be destroyed in weeks. So a good advise is to check the subframe, engine, GB and diff bushes as well!

It took 3 people and a large mallet to fit my front bushes. Those washers are a PITA, and the bushes still squeek, copper grease or not. Superflex bushes were push fit, so took 5 mininutes to fit and no problems since.

                  Eh....

                  Somethigs wrong there.

All the PF bushes i've used could be fitted with firm hand pressure and no more? Even the steel inner sleeves.

Went for PF cos the dealer is just down the road from me.

                    Agree with flat.

The PITA is to get the original bushes away and throw them as far away as You can!

But when they are all gone and the bush seats are thoroughly cleaned and free from rust and debris from the old bush it was a handpush job to make them fit. so it sounds strange. And of course as i mentioned it is no use to change to pf if the rest of the bushes on the car is gone, then they will be broken and probably squeek in just days.

Personally if you are going for uprated go for superflex if you can, I had to change the bushes on mine 3 times while powerflex redesigned them each time to stop the sweaking so I was a guinea pig for that one. quite well practiced at changing them now though

All other suspension bushes have been replaced with either new OEM, polyurethane or alloy, so the problem isn't there. The wishbones were clean before fitting the new bushes too, so the problem isn't there either.

The bushes themselves were indeed push fitted by hand as normal. The problem was the washers. There just wasn't really any room for them, and they don't locate anywhere apart from on the bolt. Hence two people to hold a pair of washers each and a third to whack the wishbone into the subframe.
The icing on the cake was to discover a short while later that the bushes squeak and creak, unlike the Superflex rear wishbone bushes that were fitted shortly before, with no problems I might add.

If anyone knows of a good replacement for the forged front wishbone bushes, then let me know. I get a horrible reminder of those crap Powerflex bushes every time I hear Bo creaking around in his car.

I have black powerflex in the rear on my RS2, and I have never heard a squeek or noise from them. They're firm, but not uncomfortable. It was a dream on the autobahn and on the Nordschleife.

I've got black powerflex front and rear on my avant and don't get any squeaks. Only issue I have is with one of the rear wishbone bushes falling apart but powerflex are replacing it FOC.
