    Forged arm bush needed urgently

    Hi,

before I go off to vagparts, has anyone got a bush for a forged arm?

Car just failed the MOT on it, not bad considering its only been on since the start of the month I guess it was a casualty of the Ring/Coombe treatment.

Anyway, if you do then please PM as the retest timer is ticking lol

I won't mention that both rears have also failed but i half expected that anyway....long story involving a powder coat

    Cheers

i've read mixed reviews on the poly ones, which really do last and which just perish/squeak?

I've heard Superflex are the one's to go for, have you tried GSF not to sure but worth a go.

I belive GSF can do these, but the quality may be questionable....

Mine had the squeak initially, but that was fixed with a design change to the central steel insert. All new items should now be the later grooved design. They have a lifetime warranty, so if they perish or become damaged in use, I'll be sending them back for another set.

I fitted GSF ones once. They lasted less than 6 months.
Superflex don't do bushes for the forged arms, I asked Chris Witor and he said there wasn't enough interest.

I've got some rears if you need them but they're for pressed arms so might not fit the forged arms.

Cheers guys... i've got oem for the rear already (had them but didnt have time to fit before i got it back on the road and to be honest the originals looked ok, they definately dont now though

I'll order the one bush for the front and leave at that for the moment. I'll just keep an eye out on the wear going forward.

                  Cheers

Just make sure when fitting them that you do the following:

Fit the arm but before you start tightening the bolts up you need to have the car on something like ramps (the home one's you drive up) so that you can lay underneath and tighten them when the wheel is in the same position that you would have it on the road, if you tighten them when the wheel is floating in air when you drop it down it will rip the bush and you need a new one straight away.

                    And don't do the following:

Let a monkey fit your bushes in as when I let a local garage press in the bushes for my original forged wishbone they slightly bent the wishbone, enough to make it scrap which is annoying If that happens let me know I now have quite a few forged wishbones lying around

i jacked up the disc/hubs so that it was tightened in relatively speaking the correct position to torque up. I know the rears would go but not that quick The front was a surprise to be honest!

                      Cheers
