    rear connecting bar

has anyone tried that on an avant?I was thinking the other day of ways to make the chassis a bit more stable without having to make a roll cage.I was thinking that making a rear connecting bar the way the front has on the RS2 would improve things.
Has anyone done this before?any pics available?

my vision is to take the boot linings off ,build 2 bases to weld on the rear absorber housings and then make a delicate hole on the linings where there will be 2 holes to mount the rod-bar with screws. This way it will be easy to install and unistall in case i need to use the hole boot for carrying stuff.

    what do you think?

does the connecting bar has the same more or less effect as the ARB?
if yes then i think the best course of action would be to get the neuspeed unit first, and then go to something more

Rear strut braces give very little noticable differences.
I cant say that 100% for the S2 Avant, but friends that have put them on other cars havent really noticed much difference...

i found the HR RARB is 21mm and the part number is 33372-2 designated for the audi A4/S4 B5.
is that the correct part for the RS2 rarb??

Are you referring to the reinforcement brackets for the ARB mounts? If so then I would recommend you fit something with the H&R bar. I have sold a few subframes for B5 S4s which have H&R rear ARBs fitted and I know Doug at MRC has had a lot of cars in with damaged subframes.

The B4 subframe has less strength than the B5 so I would be very concerned about fractures occuring.
