S2 Avant lowering springs and anti roll bars

I use my car on road and track and I'm looking for a combination of lowering springs and anti roll bars that will sharpen the car up and neutralise the handling a little bit.

I know coil-overs are king but I know what I want and they're expensive. So I'm looking for a compromise that I can afford short-term and then get the coil-overs when I'm ready.

Can anyone recommend something that's going to be better for the road with track in mind?

H&R are the proven route. There's the option of the RS2 H&Rs if you want it super stiff and more track focussed, S2Avant has these and they're STIFF!

Rollbar wise, RS2 front is the only upgrade I'm aware of. S2Avant has also fitted a 19mm Neuspeed to the rear and this will move the balance of the car away from understeer. (Do a search for Neuspeed under S2Avant)

Changing just the rear bar on my coupe has made a significant difference and is a worthwhile mod. In theory the softer front standard S2 26mm bar gives better front grip than the 28mm RS2 item and at £250 for a new RS2 item I'm not about to suck it and see!

Top mounts are also a consideration when talking suspension. I was alerted to some 034 track density items that are $25 each (front only on avant) and look like they're worth a punt. Other options are alloy, promounts and mount savers (see Corey's threads for most of those). Not sure what's available for the rear of the avant, have a look on 034's website.

Basically I would suggest the tried and tested route:-
    • H&R standard speings front and rear.
    • Uprated top mounts to taste and budget.
    • Neuspeed rear bar.
    • Leave the front standard unless there's too oversteer for you, in which case go RS2.

    Just my long 2p.
