    Alloy subframe mounts

Just to sort out if its worth getting these in the end or not as i've spoke to a few people and got mixed views on if its worthwhile or the devils work?

Some people say to stick to oem subframe mounts(martyn on friday when I was there)
Others say alloy mounts (s2driveruk on sat when I helped with his car)

I will be going for koni's, h&r's powerflex bushes all round as at present I would just like to fit the stuff and forget about it tbh. so would prefer stuff that I don't have to worry about.

never had any issues in having them on the car for 7years...makes the suspension feel tighter and slightly better feedback IMO. I fitted and forgot

Think I remember someone saying they need to be anodised before fitment for road use... Lengthens their life somewhat.

                Believe Audiman was saying that.

I'm on the flip side, I know Jas11n took his out and went to OEM mounts as it does make the ride harsher.

I've never tried them, but wouldn't be at all surprised if they feel much harsher than factory mounts. Great for trackdays, but could grate on a daily driver.

yep do need the anodising. Think they key here is where you do have the compliance in the suspension setup.

With 16's and powerflex bushes and alloy subframe mounts i think you;d be hard pushed to notice any harshness

with 16 and oem wishbone bushes/alloy mounts i can confirm no additional harshness as that was my setup for about 4yrs and at the time putting 15-20k per year on the car

with 18's/ oem wishbone bushes and alloy subframe bushes there is more harshness but it is not uncomfortable, that comes more from the bilsteins and H&R's in my experience

I think that so long as you have some rubber somewhere (even if it is actually just by using a stock alloy and standard 55 sidewall) then it is absolutely fine.

Peter on a setup like you have with 19's i reckon even now its going to be crashing over every ripple in the road and that might increase slightly with the powerflex stuff on the w/bones it might make sense to leave the subframe ones oem, having said that the alloy mounts are not expensive so you could trial them and if not right ebay them and revert to standard bushes.

yeah true with that, I also plan on using 16's as everyday alloys and keep the 19's for show's to cut down on tyre costs (unless a nice set of 17's turn up )

what is the concensus on polybushes throughout?

I'm going for polybushes in the front/rear wishbones and rear diff mount. Well worth it from what i've heard and don't need to worry about them once fitted.

The mounts Corey sells are anodised and follow the contour of the subframe. In my project thread you can see unanodised ally mounts coming out and anosided contour-following ally mounts going in.

yer, my plan also - poly subframe bushes, wishbones and ARB mounts.
I'm just not sure about the poly diff bush - I heard you get a lot of noise transmitted through it...
