Maibe from the begining the subframe was tightened in that position and the camber adjusted after that.
I cant see any problems iff the angles are right and they dont move..
On closer inspection i found that the adjustment was full negative one side and full positive the other
This can not be normal? Any one seen this before?
Cheers James
Well thats not difficult to achieve - the camber on each side is not inter-related.
The camber is primarily adusted by the position of the bottom ball joint - you'll see it is slotted for movement - independent on each side. I'm gonna tweak mine for max -ve camber soon. Let us know the kind of range of adjustment you can get.
The subframe has some adjustment in the car, you can also mount the subframe out of line which will change the wheelbase on each side.
Do you have alloy subframe mounts fitted? I have had my front subframe move position before. I hit a large rut in the road on a very tight right hander, car immediatly felt different so i knew something was wrong. I think its because the alloy mounts have a smooth face vs the stock mount that has a knurled finish where it makes contact with the body. Granted that was a very hard impact, enough to leave a flat spot on the wheel

At just over £100 it's not cheap but as both the S2 and The S4 need setting I figured it was worth it, and I can now try different settings to see what affect they have.

After many wasted trips to the local tyre monkeys, I've just ordered one of these from the states:-

You don't need to spend silly money... Just a good straight edge with accurately marked graduations, a piece of string and a bob weight - thats all mine is. Can photo if you like - its on old school thing but it has setup several cars of mine and a few rally cars of others in its time. No batteries, computer interfaces or manual required
