Not heard anything about the 034 ones other than Jamo pointing them out. For the money I'm going to try them, blues were £25 each last time I checked at VAGParts

Trying to resist teaming them KW coilovers...

    Thanks for the advice guys
As I said, not going to bother with uprated ones as car is up for sale soonish.
I'll go for blues in the hope they might last a little longer - the old ones might even have been gsf specials - who knows!

Do you know quite how much difference there is height of the mounts Andy?
Are we talking a few mm?

    cheers

yeah i think the lack of movement/absorbsion in the tyres and suspension means they do get a hard time....and the fact that the design of them is soooooo kak

This was the comparison of old v new blue mounts when i rebuilt the car suspension last autumn, definately well compressed (had been on the car for 18months-2yrs)

I wonder is it the low profile tyres and stiffer suspension which pummels the mounts. Just remembered I am running winter rubber 205/55 on 16's at the moment so that accounts for the recent ride improvement on the bumpy stuff.

Alloy top mounts get my vote.

Some of the roads we have here might as well be dirt tracks

I gave them a right good pounding with 18" wheels and a stiff suspension set up

My blue topmounts fell apart in around 3000miles, and I mean fell apart. The bearings came away from the rubber and got smashed to bits. The 'roads' in Sheffield are like cart tracks though
Anybody tried the 034 ones yet? they seem a bit more wallet friendly that the Promounts.

Thats mad... In fairness I can feel the car much better over bumps & ramps with the fresh mounts. Lets see how long these last then. MOst of my driving has been motorway & a-roads - especially last couple of years so its not like I'm stressing them as much as I'd like.

I don't have much truck in the theory of blue mounts being better... They come from the much lighter UR. I've used one set of green mounts in 6 yrs - about 30k miles. Just fitted another set of greens. Would like to try some of the stiffer options as well tho.

was suggested to me the other day that these might not be all they are cracked up to be the 034 mounts......? Anyone confirm anything or anyone actually running with a set?

The blues i find last slightly longer than the green, though note they are thinner than the greens so drop the car slightly.
