Few quick questions - anyone know how much top mounts need to be worn before they are an MOT failure? Mine is due in 2 weeks and not sure I can do the top-mounts before then. They are knockin a bit and probably about 5mm difference in the cup height between wheels on the ground and when jacked up.

I tried to change them on Sunday but couldn't get my 22m deep crank spanner on - wouldn't fit in the cup
Add to that the 11mm hex on the tops of the koni inserts look pretty rounded - not going to be a fun job doing these I don't think. I'm also struggling against some muppet previous owner over torquing every fixing i have come across
I can see I will need to make a tool to fit the 22mm top nut, and may even have to force a 10mm spanner onto the insert nut to get some purchase, as even a brake union ring spanner is quite a 'loose' fit

Have people grinded out a 22mm socket to make a replica of the VAG tool?
Any BTDT on troublesome top nuts?

A friend of mine, have exploded two OEM mounts in about 3000km.

So we have planned to buy track density mounts (034motorsport). They look good but I hope they are resitant enough.
But it's good to see that it is a current problem.

    Them frogs sure are tasty!

Car to start a page with your S2? looks like a sedan? be interesting to see pics.

I have blues, new top mounts,OEM Sports suspension (springs and shocks).Everything is torqued correctly. On a good surface, everything is whisper quiet. You hit a miniscule rut and rattle central!

Im turning off my Classic FM and gonna retune to Kiss now to shut it the f*** up!!!!!

I would have expected better from Audi.My Lancia Thema Turbos were actually much quieter.Youd expect those to creak like a Volvo 480!!!!!!!!!!!

I only asked if these products were available elsewhere as a monopoly isn't renowned as providing best value for money

Quattronics are sole U.K distributors, you'd have to buy via another member in america as the distributor won't ship to the U.K.

I spoke to the maker of the product who is a top man and vey honourable.

I've only had good dealings with them, Corey's helped me out at short notice a couple of times with no problems but there are others who have a different experience... and it's always good to look around anyway.
