    Suspension/Anti roll bars

    Hi
Looking for some advice on firming up the suspension on my S2 Coupe. Not wanting anything ultrafirm just something that will firm it up so that it stops rolling in corners. Std wheels btw.

If you want standard ridehight then there's only ARBs and dampers to play with really. RS2 FARB is expensive nowadays and there's lots of RARB options to suit handling prefernce. You still get a lot of body roll though (look at any track pics of mine ) and the car rides quite firmly with the uprated dampers and RARB.

H&R lowering springs (£250) are tried, tested and cost effective. Best teamed up with some Koni or Bilstein dampers (£450), the Billies are a bit stiffer possibly suiting track use.

Other option is to go for a more custom coilover solution but that's £££s. KW offer a kit for £700 upwards, adjustable rideheight and a choice of springs make this a tempting option though.

I went for H&R springs and RS2 dampers all round, and what a difference!!! I have heard that Bilsteins are very stiff too, but i dont think you get rear RS2 dampers for a coupe.

I'm running 225/45/17" i guess this make my S2 feel even stiffer.

Stock springs with Konis and ARB's is a very nice setup for road use. H&R's do transform the handling but you really suffer on rough roads with the reduced suspension travel. Perfect setup IMO would be H&R spring rate with a stock rideheight.

Dammit you have me thinking about KW's now

Standard springs on Bilstein Dampers is nice. If I had a choice, I would add RS2 FARB and a Whiteline RARB to that too...

                Hi,

Might try and get some prices on the H&R's. What sort of reduction in ride height do you get with them. Also uprating the antiroll bars will this help also.
