    KW Coilovers

Please can anyone who has these on their car post their thoughts about them and try and answer the following q's:-
    • Did you go for Variant 1 or 2?
    • What spring rates did you chose (if applicable)?
    • What did you pay and where from?
    • What did you hand over in exchange (Motorsport World seemed to think that they wanted shock inserts too - no chance as they're Konis!)
    • What do you think?!

    - variant 2, i wanted the adjustable rebound
    - cant remember what spring rates now....but mines a non turbo neway so no use
    - £900 from awesome GTI
    - i handed just the legs over, no shocks. and awesome managed to get them to build them before i gave them by suspention, with a surcharge obviously which was great!
    - as you know i love them, not sure where you live but your welcome to come take mine out for a spin.

Bristol mate. Thought it was a strange request for the inserts... they'll be sold off if I get some KWs

I think the kits are the same for S2 and Coupe quattro.

The German guy Wolfgang got a Version1 set under his car
and he is very happy with it
        i have two sets H&R lowering springs laying around but i want a adjustible set for track and street. also thinking about K&W or H&R adjustibles {heard H&R also makes a adjustible set?}
there is also a dutch brand who makes a nice set but then with in and out damping adjustible
K&W doesnot let you adjust the damping both ways that makes it sometimes hard to get the right adjustment.

        good luck

yes, same kit, i'll try and dig out the spring rates, you'd want to have stiffer fronts though, mine are slightly too soft up front and i dont even have aircon lol.

Cheers guys. I'm not sure I need V2s and they are £200 more. Motorgeek seems to suggest something around 400lb springs, perhaps stiffer on the rear.

Seems that those who have fitted these to an S2 have been pleased with them but I have been tipped off about quality issues on other kits.

Interesting thread Andy, care to elaborate on the quality issues you mention?
