Drop link boot torn - MOT failure?

noticed one of my drop link ball joint boots is split when i was doing my topmounts at the weekend - anyone know if that is an MOT failure?

Here's a link to the MOT testers manual.

I don't see the drop links mentioned, so it likes like you'd be given an advisory as Aaron suggests.

i'd expect a fail as the joint and grease are open to the elements

Read mot manual section 2.4 suspension
                section G - g:Anti roll bars & linkages

Its not a failure- advisory only if the boot is split
But if there is any play in the joint it's a fail
                and ive sobered up now!!!!...............

D'oh! got it booked in tomorrow too -
Seems to suggest its a fail if its very worn - is that a discretional thing then?
I've got no noice or play in the bal joint TBH

Im a tester and you cant fail it on a split boot on ARB link

It can fail if there is ''excessive'' play

This is where tester discresion comes in, i would normally advise if the boot is split and if there is slight play but when u can grab it and really knocks and goes then its a fail

                      hope that helps buddy

thanks Dan sounds like i should get away with it then.
I'll replace them at the weekend anyway, just wanted to keep my slot at the test station today.

                        Thanks for the info guys!
