    PAS Fluid A Small Rant

You know i don't understand why for the life of me people put atf fluid in audi's, i have seen it so many times, it's on top of the reservoir for god s sake use only mineral goooo2ooo or whatever part no it is, sheeeshh

Anyway turkey baster at the ready and pulled the old fluid out, run car for a week and do the same, in 3 weeks it should be clear.

Now i was always lead to believe that atf affects the seals, i wonder if this is why so many of us experience leaks especially on the x ring plug, mine leaks have new one on order.

I hate that too... YOu should be OK with the seals if it hasnt been there too long, but I wouldn't just use the old turkey baster / syrings to lift it from the reservoir... Open the low pressure hose where the bottom of reservoir connects to the cooling pipe and drain as much of that old crap out... G2000 is pretty cheap - you can afford to do that a few times to purge out the bad stuff.

Seen it loads too- and if left in it will fook up the seals good n proper- new rack anyone??

Remove the return from the reservoir and run the engine going from lock to lock to purge it all-g2000 is a LOT cheaper than new pipes/rack etc.....

good work. people can be rather thick with things as expensive as cars. I used to work in halfords (i know, i know.. i'm a god) and it was amzing how many people would buy engine oil and go mix synthetic with mineral oil or pour screen wash in the expansion tank instead of coolant and vice versa... it was endless. including a lady that topped up her screen wash but poured it directly into the engine via the oil filler cap. a man that bought a pair of number plates in a combination he'd just made up to look like his wife's name "H3 LEN" or something. thought that was it. Until I asked him what he paid for the reg and the conversation exposed his stupidity. 50 year old man in a suit by the way. not even a young bloke.
                  anyway.. i'm rambling. sorry.

yeah i've seen some like that but most in the area I used to live in just used to walk in pick up what they want and walk out it was really that bad they used to spend time unbolting stuff like steering wheels or sub boxes and walk off. One guy had a high power pressure washer and came back the next day to tip the cashier as she watched them do it and not said anything

It was 2 years in halfords that prompted me to take stock of my life and go to uni and get a career sorted out.
They're so tight that they don't install security equipment. I had to empty a can of damp start one day and put a big label on it to tell customers to ask for one at the parts desk because they were going off the shelf at 3 or 4 a day without going past a till. and yeah the bulk displays of pressure washers and stuff just invite the bass necked folks to walk out with one.
One of my colleagues came into the shop red faced on a saturday morning after showing a guy an expensive bike, adjusting the saddle for him, adjusting the brakes, took him outside so he could have a spin round the carpark and adjusted the gears... of course the guy was cycling in wee circles and went "right, that's great. thanks." and cycled off across the carpark never to return. hahaha. incidentally I think he's now the manager. the colleague, not the thief. although I wouldn't be surprised.
