Could be worth getting a price for a certain quantity of sets. And then instigating a Group buy? Enquiring in the GB thread or the For sale thread may generate more interest.
Im surprised ther is not more interest tbh. Considering how many people say that they want H&Rs
Its dead nice of you to look into this.
Cheers!
Come on chaps!! Show interest!! Hell of an opportunity!

I might take a chance and get x10 sets made up for S2 Coupe's as they seem to be the rare & expensive ones. Will need to confirm on price if i do it but should be £150.00 a set max..
All i've got from them to work off tho is my standard ABY coupe springs sat in a box (I could get them to try and make them so approx 40mm lower when fitted but that could be dodgy as they've got 100,000 miles on them already so seen better days) Obvioulsy want them to be right tho and not too low/too high. Will hopefully pop over tommorrow if i get chance and have a chat about poss best options. Any other ideas that might help, let me know..
S'pose what i could do with is a set of new say H&R cups or similar as a pattern, bish, bang, bong...thank u please..

Phufff...
Guess a set of sedan springs is out then, even if they do have a better rear end...
Coupees just sticking together as always...
Carlos.
On the look out for less bits for my s2 saloon project. Now supporting myself by shooting for my food. www.airgunforum.co.ukComment

If you do, let me know the rates you intend on buying before you get them. Mine is not an S2 and hence a bit lighter on the front end. Could let you know which rates would better suit the cq20v's.
There must be other owners out there who want a set???Comment

I would be willing to chip in for a new sample spring. VAG parts do singles for 60brick plus vat, split a few ways still cheaper than H & Rs if they are coming in at 150I might take a chance and get x10 sets made up for S2 Coupe's as they seem to be the rare & expensive ones. Just dug my old standard springs out, all 4 seem equal and the same height but im not 100% sure they're OEM springs anyway. My car seemed to be sitting real high when they were on, almost to high. Getting a 40mm drop pattern made on these would still leave it sitting up i reckon.
Old pic shortly before they came off. What you reckon, to me its looks Range Rover stylee? Got shed loads of history with the car but nothing that mentions springs changed..
If i get some made 40mm lower than these versions (for my 2.8 & for you guys) i reckon there'll still be too high. What say???
Thats 17" Avus on there in the pic BTW

They are probably not far off. perhaps a little high. But maybe that means theyre not worn, healthy springs.
On that car, a guesstimate it would look good at 50-55mm lowering ish
I will DEFINATELY take an s2 coupe set if you do get some made.

S2 is lowered anyway and you don't want to go too mad, I've measured the rideheight at 660mm F+R on the 17s. IMO H&Rs are a little low, especailly at the rear, I'd prefer a set that were (compared to the S2) perhaps 25mm lower at the front, 15mm at the rear and uprated spring rate to somewhere near that of the H&Rs but with a more aggressive stance, don't like that low rear that the H&Rs give. Really need to measure the spring rates standard and H&R so that you can spec these correctly. Same spring rate all round is acceptable but slightly stiffer at the rear is better for dialing out some of that Audi understeer. Only 5 - 10% increase on the rear springs. Americans seem to think that 300lb springs all round are OK, 400lb are a bit stiff for the road. Robo runs 375/425 on his track shorty.
From reading on motorgeek I'd go (finger in the air here) 300lb front, 325lb rear and a drop over the S2 of 25mm front and 15mm rear.Last edited by Rusty; 24 April 2008, 20:54.Cheers'en, AndyC
