Seeing as we're all on 17s could you guys measure the rideheights of your cars to the highest part of the arch, mine was about 660mm. Should give an idea of a suitable lowering measurement.

I think that 25/15 is not enough. I like a more aggressive stance than that on my car. I agree with perhaps a split lowering. like 45/40 or suchlike. And H&R stiffness or slightly more would suit me.
My CQ (admitedly higher from factory) is currently lowered about 45mm. I want it lower than that and i live in the back of beyond, so usually suffer bad roads and clearance but my CQ has never been a problem.

What is the difference CQ vs S2 height as standard??

Hmmm, im sure i can get the pressure of the OEM springs measured by them no probs but from the sounds of it 300lbs should be a good compromise then?!

Im currently running H&R cup springs on the S2,which all 4 are identical and bought as 2 identical pairs. Sorry for the naff winter pic's but its the only couple i've got and car not with me at the mo. I do agree that it may sit v slightly lower at the back tho.

I think a drop of 40-45mm all round suits the car, but with 18's and with a 3" exhaust fitted now i think this is about the limit anyway. I cannot accurately comment on the under/over-steer elements as have not had it maxed on track since fitted.

Looking at my original pic in standard form tho I'm still having my doubts that 40-45mm off those "particular" springs would make it sit as is now. Shelling out for x10 sets and not low enough for you guys could obviously leave me in a bit of i dilemma, all for the the sake of a a bit of beer money!

I'll speak with mate at AST later and see what we can sort..

              H&R front

They have prob bedded in slightly more now as well as both pics were taken just after fitted.

I like the lowering of your car Darren. Thats about what im looking for. doesnt look too bad in terms of even front-rear. could perhaps go down at the front 5mm safely.

How much lowering does H&R claim on those springs?

I am running on 16's so the lower the better for me.

What tyre size are you darren, so i get an idea of the diameter of your wheels?

Andy/Darren: Measuring the distance from the centre of the wheel to the arch is the most accurate way, as it eliminates differences due to wheel/tyre size.

                    Cheers.

Agreed, looking at that pic could prob do with another 5-10mm drop up front but having said that, it has bedded in a few mm more now and wouldnt wanna go any lower coz of my fat little 3" underneath! Can't remember exacty what drop H&R quoted TBH on these springs, my tyres are 235/40/18's from memory. hope that helps
