Personally, I have been running Eibachs and Bilsteins for some years on my 1993 S4. Sometimes they feel too stiff and other times too soft, so I guess that's about right. You do have to go slow over speed bumps.

Since the proper C4 UrS Eibachs are next to impossible to find, many C4 S4/S6 people in North America have been running H&R V8 Sport springs with Bilstein shocks. Where there is salt used on the road, there are many cases of the H&R front springs breaking due to rust (the salt water gets under the plastic spring covers). H&R has been excellent about it and have been replacing the springs under warranty.

The shortest stiffest stock springs came in the 1992 model year UrS4. Many people with the later cars, particularly the UrS6 ,seek these 1992 springs out because they lower their cars by about 3/4 inch (19 mm) and are stiffer. The only thing that comes close is S6 plus springs. They lower the car and are quite stiff.

As for alignment, with the Eibach and Bilstein combo, you can bring it into the stock camber range simply by slotting the mounts a bit more with a file/die grinder. That's what I did. I have the camber set at -0.9 degrees.

Options for adjusting the camber while using H&R springs (which lower the car more than the Eibachs) include 2 Bennett top mounts (provide the ability to adjust both camber and caster). The other alternative is to redrill new stock camber plates according to a template developed by Igor Kessel available within this link (look for the links to the pdf templates):

If the car is new to you, you might want to visit the C4 UrS-car FAQ (tonnes of info, just read, don't respond):

      Hope that helps.

Sorry to drag up an old thread, but does anyone know whether the S6 Plus springs are still available and what the part no/specs are?

        cheers,

I have Koni springs and shocks all the way round - never had a problem, never looked back. Fitting a 3" straight through exhaust certainly highlighted clearance issues, and after several scrapes, I approach speed-humps with caution. I find the Koni's give pretty good ride height without a compromise on comfort.
