is that a sheared bracket Graham?

Az, i'd replace with new locking nuts as I replaced the track rods on my old coupe and 2 weeks later they'd worked their way loose again... new nuts on and was fine then

Yep, on anything related to stress on a car and has a locking nut, renew them

I'd replace the bracket aswell, as it was fatigue what caused it to fail. The metal had only 1-2mm of flexing but enough to make it glass hard till it sheared, luckily the bottom half just held, but it was going also after the top failed. (just 20 miles of driving almost ended in disaster)
