    RS2's and Bilsteins Sprint

Has anyone here used the Bilstein Sprints (BE3-6214) instead of the Sport (BE3-6212)? I've bought a set of Sprints for my RS2 and could use some advice.

The common consensus with the Sports is to machine another groove for the spring perch 13mm lower than what is already there. I've bought a set of Sprints and was wondering if I should need to do the same.

    Cheers

Sprints are designed for lowered vehicles, so I would imagine the modification is not needed.

It does help. I was thinking the same thing. The groove is already very close to the bottom of the shock.

I was hoping someone had used the Sprints before and could tell me for sure.

Any BTDT? A measurement from the groove to the center of the bolt hole at the bottom of the shock would be nice. Anybody?

Compare original shock to sprint shock. Is the groove in same height?

My strong feeling is that you need to make new groove in sprint shock too.

I'm flying somewhat blind over here in the US. We didn't get the RS2 so I don't have an OE shock to compare the Bilstein with.

          Anybody got a measurement?

              Hi,
I vaguely recall that I read the names 'sprint' and 'sport' are applied to different models in USA compared to Europe. I may be wrong and apologise if I'm creating confusion - I can't remember the source so can't verify this.

There's a thread on the forum re Avant / RS2 Bilsteins with pics.

Thanks Jamo. I've looked at those and there is some debate about whether the groove should be placed at 13mm or 10mm below the original one. I was hoping someone could give a definitive answer.

I guess I'm just going to try 13mm first and see how it goes.

Sports, Sprints, Heavy Duty......I agree, it is very confusing to understand. I bought Bilstein rears with a part number BE3-6214.

Try a pm to GT500, he has done the mod on the sports at 13mm for rears.
He may be able to shed some light on the sprints.
As far as I know there have been more people doing the mod for the sports.
I haven't read any info on the sprints.
                    Good luck.
