    coilovers

    Hi guys.

Im going to be buying coilovers soon , I know all the theory behing them but is there any real difference in handling and adapdability of the different coilovers such as KW V1, V2 or the expensive V3 and the H&R conversion.

FK will be far to soft as the use Koni inserts, so i think that would be wasted money.

I run 600 front and 450 rear lb/inch at the minute with konis turned all the way up! and its not that stiff really, will such coilovers dramaticly change th adapdability of my chassis?

I also run Derlin engine mounts, tranny mounts and alloy subframe mounts.

    What do you guys think?
Probably the longet S2 project in history EVER!

i'd say yes! not sure of the other manufacturers but KW will let you specify what springs wou want to run on all there kits and the shocks have a VERY wide adjustment on them. i noticed a dramatic improvement whem going from H&R(not confirmed) with standard shocks. i think you will especially benefit with the stiffer mounts. also many people forget to corner balance there cars when fitting coilovers, including me...although thats purely finantial right now lol

difficult to explain tbh, but imagine every car as a table with one leg shorter than the other, because no car can be perfectly balanced, the adjustable ride hight allows you to balance the force being applied at the wheels. very necisary with any coilover that has been hand made IMO, which afaik all quattro systems are. where are you based? best way is to see if anyone around you has coilovers and go check them out.

Corner weighting/aka corner balancing is the best benefit to be had from coilovers, other than decking the car on the sills
