RS2 Avant- Where to Buy H&R Springs, Bilsteins & Powerflex Poly Bushes?

    Rs2 Avant 1994

I now have the part numbers of the Bilstein Shocks that I want, and I know that I want H&R Lowered Springs and Poly Bushes all round.

The problem is.......where should I get them from, who is the cheapest and who is the most reliable?

Do people know what kit or part numbers of the Poly bushes I need are called? (eg Front Wishbone Kit, Upper Rear arm doo dah!)

Please Help, I need my car sorted asap!

RE2500 just wrote a thread on this but I forget where he got his from. Careful if you go for the RS2 spec H&Rs, they're bone-shatterringly stiff, better to go standard Avant in IMO. HTH

Quattro corner are always worth a try.

so there is a difference in stiffness between HR avant and HR RS2 springs? Is there also a difference in ride height or are they both 30mm lower?

Also i was thinking of poly bushes, but i ended up replacing all front and rear bushes with original parts. The previous ones lasted 10 years and the car feels great.Im sure these will last as long....Rear bushes are 18 in total by the way from audi.powerflex has less by producing different type of bushes

S2Avant's car is on RS2s and it's stiff as a stif thing with stiffness disease.

        My hardcore bush wishlist

        Aluminium subframe bushes
Superflex poly wishbone & ARB bushes
        Promount top mounts
        034 engine & transmission mounts

WHere has this mith come from? The RS2 H&Rs are perfect! Not even as stiff as a new A4 S line.
Makes it feel like a proper car, not soggy or rolley.
Anyone wants to try before they buy can have a ride in mine. RS2315 Has just had me fit a set after a ride in mine. He loves them! even with wife and little kiddie on board.
So if women and little kids are ok with ride what are people going on about?

problem is that if i ever decide to go for lower springs,i will probably have to move house as well,as im already low enough for my cats to hit the parking space designated pole mechanism...grrrr

I'd be interested to compare our cars side by side.

Mine is very stiff but is not really that bad in normal use. I agree that they eliminates sogginess and rolling. I have issues with bad road surfaces and occasionally get wheel lift at high speed on bumpy surfaces. I have the H&Rs and Bilsteins with polybushes throughout, Alloy topmounts and subframe mounts and the neuspeed rear ARB.

It's the truth the RS2 H&R must be a good 30% stiffer than the S2 one

HI Ben, I have just put 2+2 together, yours is the Dark red avant (sorry can't remember the name) now I KNow what you look like!
I wonder if your stiffness comes from the mounts? MInes the same spec as yours with out the alloy top mounts and sub frame. Mine has poly sub frame mounts.

                      Jamo,
I'm glad I went with RS2s, 30% less would be too soft.

Funny thing is my UR that my wife uses every day, has original springs on with a set of Bilsteins sport dampers. This is 50% stiffer than my RS2! Ask Bry or AndyP.
I think my wife likes her bits shaken up and down!:mischeif: never complains!

                        cheers

Ben's car is rediculous and is my experience of RS2 H&R springs so it's no a myth as you put it, it's fact with evidence to back it up... as Jamo and others who have seen the car will agree. Perhaps Ben's are even more special that normal RS2 springs.

im thinking of H&Rs about now and since i have bilsteins on,i would prefer the S2 ones rather than the RS2 ones,as i dont want it to get very stiff.
what are the part numbers for the S2 ones? i know for rs2 is 29969-1

yesterday i fitted H+R's on my S2 avant. i bought them from AM cars and they came off an RS2. went for a spin this morning and they feel perfect. part numbers suggest they are -30mm the guy who i got them from said they were -40mm.
So the springs can be fitted to either IMO.
Brand new the HR website says that RS2 springs are £314 and S2 are £194.
