What are the symptoms of knackered sub frame bushes? The RS2 has been perfect until this weekend when fully loaded it was 'crashing' over road seams etc.
Before you give alternative causes I have replaced
dampers topmounts(2007) front wishbones balljoints droplinks ARB bushes new tyres (38psi)
Not really. It tracks fine & sharp. Just feels as if its missing 'rubber' on sharp vertical uneven surfaces. The A9 has some exposed 'slab' joints that seemed to create more of a jolt than they should.
Wonder if its just the rear wishbone bushes wearing. Visiual deterioation noted at service earlier this year but fine when checked for Xs movement at MRC last year.
if the rear wishbone bushes are shot then it feels same as above...loose and untrue in corners as there is more movement than there should be. if you are getting jolts over uneven surfaces then maybe a topmount?
Lets face it, any bushes that are original are a minimum of 12 years old now so replacing things like SF bushes might not solve the problem but it's a damned good thing to do. Also check teh subframe for rust as I had one rust out, both my front and rear subframes have been zinc coated and powdercoated so they should last a bit longer, it's a big job but well worth it IMO.
