    Subframe bolt/captive nut cross threades/stripped.Help!

    Hello!

On recently fitting Powerflex bushes,I removed the subframe bolt and its plate (nsr one)

Anyway, bolted everything back up and all felt good, then occasionally a veering to the left.

It would appear that although I had tightened bolt back in tight,it was not tight enough although this was not obvious.Had no torque wrench at that location:-(

So,whats happened is that its stripped the thread out of the captive nut in the floorpan. The bolt had its thread on it when I removed it.

VAGParts have sent me a new bolt.Im wondering if anyone can show me with pics exactly whereabouts the bolt goes into the captive nut.I tried going in from pass footwell to see if owt was evident. No!

So its all work from undeneath I guess???

    How embarrasing!

This is on a 2.6 V6 by the way,but hope someone here can help...

    Many thx!
