    Paint or Powder

I have been busy with my media blaster again, stripping the old finish off my OE RS2 springs in order to refinish them. I can't decide if I should powder coat them of just spray them with a durable paint. I live in the south where we don't see snow too often so I'm not worried about rust, but want the finish to last. Painting would be cheaper than powder, which is a plus, but I don't think the paint would be as purdy.

So what to do with the springs........painted or powder coated?

I powder coated my old Koni springs which slow2 has now. They hold up very well.

How about that por 15 stuff. www.frost.co.uk
GT500 swears by it for chassis and suspension areas.
Doesn't like ultraviolet light, but springs are well tucked away.

I've looked at POR 15. I know it's good paint, but wasn't sure what the finish was like. Is it a good match for the original black on the factory springs?

Use POR15, far far more durable than powder coating IMHO.

You have to top-coat it as it's UV sensitive as RS2315 said - the POR15 Chassis Coat Black dries to a kind of plasticy satin black - it looks good and is very easy to get a good finish with a brush

I'm currently having some HnRs powder coated as it's pretty good. That POR stuff is supposed to be good also and is DIY.
