    Steering Pulling?

    hi all!

just been down my local garage (been using for a while, trusted bunch) for them to check my tracking as the car is pulling to the left and wheel is down to the left. this i assumed would be down to the toe being wrong but they have told me its all in spec?

any sugestions as to what is could be?

You are not running sym and asym tires are you, that sometimes causes a stange floaty sensation or a pull...doesn't thrust angle also cause a pull effect too, did they check all angles basically?

tryes are all p6000 (boo) but the left one is wearing on the outer edge alot more. they checked tracking so toe basically. ive only ever experienced pulling to one side and steering down to one side being down to toe. i thought something might be worn but then im sure i would have shaking at speed

          this best describes the problem:

          OFF-CENTER STEERING WHEEL
This condition may accompany a steady pull or memory steer. But if the steering wheel is off-center (crooked) but there is no pull to either side, possible causes include:

Steering linkage not centered when toe was adjusted. Correct by recentering steering wheel and equalizing lengths of both tie rods, then readjusting toe to specifications.

Bent steering arm or linkage. Check turning angle both ways. If arm is bent, knuckle (or strut if arm is attached to strut) will have to be replaced.

pretty much what ive had checked.

I would get camber and caster checked... There is much more to wheel alignment than TOE settings...

I've replaced EVERYTHING on my suspension, wheels tyres etc. etc. and it still pulls to the left. On the continent it sort of pulls to the right though so might be a case of the camber of teh road coming into play. The only thing I've not adjusted becasue there's very little info on it, is the subframe alignment...

right just been out, jacked it all up and checked for play etc. only thing i found was the top mount on the near side is squeeking and has a tiny bit of play. the steering damper is also leaking out oil (new one with engine mounts coming 2mo).

im not getting a 4 wheel alignment done until i change the suspension, save money!
