Hi, I`m looking to buy a coilover kit for my s2 coupe and consider 3 alternatives
Kw v2, H&R and 2bennet wich of them should i buy??
Is there other kits I should consider??
I have the KW's as I believed their marketing hype about being corrosion resistant etc. Testament to that is mine are 3 years old and apart from being dirty looked to be in perfect condition when I fitted them to the car. They've transformed the handling and the car feels so sure-footed now that it feels like a different car altogether.
1994 Audi S2 Avant - in pieces
2006 Skoda Octavia vRS 2.0TFSi - goes fast
1985 Audi 90 quattro - is wet

if the shipping taxes are not going to be to harsh,i might try them.
I had a contact there and i was told that by sending the bilstein shocks as well as the struts they can make them for 1020$ +shipping
if i can manage the same prices in greece i might go that way.otherwise im going to do it with 2benett.But my custom made kit is going to be more street and less track oriented.OEM spring rate, and height adjustable from OEM height to up to 40mm lower along with bilstein shocks
2bennet supposed to be good, but never seen it on a b4 chassi. Never heard anything bad about it.
KW's are a mixed feeling. Some like them others dont, 50/50. Some set are crap, others seem to work very well. I think it all comes down to the personal drivingstyle and wether to take care of your car or not.
After all reading and testing on some friends cars, I dont think I will ever go the KW route.. They do also make a clubsport kit now too. Dont know any more about it.
I have H&R clubsport on mine, but yet to be tested out. They might end up as crap aswell, but that is yet to come.
H&R regualr coilovers are also some mixed feelings for some. Some think they are too soft, and swear to KW instead, and others think they are the best.
Go for your gut and choose 2bennet(?). I dont think its a bad choice seeing all the other sets that are out there.
i looked into kw variant 2's and they said they need your original struts to modify them and when you get them back they're cadmium plated and not the stainless as advertised as they are one offs.
problem with modifying your struts is that once you do it,you cannot go back to original, which is why i found a cheap set of them used, which im going to refurb, and have that modified for coilovers.
As you maybe understand I`m leaning towards 2bennet since it would be the cheapest of the three and I don`t have to ship away my strut housings like I have to with kw and HR, but I think I have to modify it on my own, but this won`t be a problem..

I think it's a good thing that KW use the original struts, and not their own stainless version.
Original struts don't bend with normal use, KWs do.
