Buy a set of 4 made by Sykes Pickvant. They were 5quid for a pack of all 4 sizes at my local Halfords...I think they got the price wrong but I checked recently again and it is still priced the same. I think I used the largest of the 4 to do mine.

They are too cheap at the Halford near my Parents. I could get my dad to send a cheap set to someone if they cover his postage. Drop me a PM. Halfords in Surrey are more expensive than in Pembrokeshire for these topmount tools for some bizarre reason!!

@Rob - you need a hefty 7mm allen key and a special cutaway 22mm socket - identical to those used for lambda probes.

Audi tool numbers are in suspension section of S2 Central. From memory its 3078 for the 22mm tool. Easy enough to get a clone at Halfords, but they aint expensive from Audi either.

You also need the 2-prong key tool - VW524. Cheap from Audi. Other specialist tool places can probably get you a copy (Matra or Stahlwille).

So i can use a 7mm allen key for the bit on the right.
a 22mm cut away socket & some spring clamps.

                  the VW524 is?

                  sorry for being dense.

Aye - the HAZET one is nice and elaborate, but you also need the 2-prong tool. You can borrow mines if you are passing this way, or I can meet you in that London with them if you like.

I'm missing something chaps... ( brains?) but I used a 7mm allen key and a ring spanner when I did mine 11 years ago.

Do you need anything more expensive?

I've still got both feet and all my teeth so I must have.. I honestly can't remember. I have spring compressors and would have used them. I'm more confused not. All the 7mm hex key does is stops the shock inner pin from revolving whilst you remove the nut. Nothing fancy needed I feel.I'll have to look at my spare suspension tomorrow,

I just used the ring spanner and a 7mm allen key to do mine. Spring compressors are definately required too. Konis have a 6mm allen key on to so be careful if you are spending lots on a tool if you can't use it to torque up your new shocks.
