I am going to attept to change my front top mounts this weekend.

I am going to try and use the spring compressors, 22mm offset spanner and home made slotted tool method but wondered if anyone in Birmingham/Kidderminster area had VAG tool 3078 (slotted socket) or VW 524 (slotted nut removal tool) that i may be able to borrow in exchange for

    Thanks in advance.

    Dan

If you have OE dampers be sure you also have a 7mm allen key, which is left out of most sets. Most aftermarket dampers I've seen use a 6mm.

I made a batch of these a few years ago. I got a 20mm 12.9 grade cap bolt, cut the threads and head off so i eas left with the shank. Then bored it out and cut its teeth into it, then any allen key will fit
