i much prefer the cast wishbones (kindly donated by the previous owner) to the pressed ones, the pressed although being lighter are lots more rigid & by the very nature of the cast ones they add a tiny bit of flex, and i agree iwth jamo, if your in an accident where your subframe gets bent ull have more to worry about than wishbones. i prefer the handling with the cast, it seems much smoother even considering ive added uprated bushes to the cast lower arms!

ive never run with cast so cant comment on those. bushing the caqr with solid sdubframe and powerflex helsp lots i do know.

the jaloppi shell of the coupe is the first thing that cannot really be sorted that lets these cars down. the other bits help to improve thingsa but its a battle all the way. my corrado was streets ahead on chassis rigidity and handling.

id say cast are better but id expect more costly too. they are also heavy. on the subarus the pressed were replaced with cast alloy items which were also lighter from sti imports but they are more driver/handling focused anyway than audi.

having swapped from pressed to cast, basic differences I have noticed are:

Cast ones communicate a bit more, even on standard bushes
Cast wishbone bushes stand up to more abuse than the pressed ones so if you are running alloy subfame mounts like i do, then you still have an opportunity to have some compliance in the suspension between tyre and subframe
Pressed ones do like to corrode - would definately seam-weld for additional security

One other thing I noticed is when the garage damaged one of my cast wishbones and put a pressed on one side opposite a cast I found the pressed wishbone had dropped the drivers side slightly and I got rubbing from wheel to arch. It also kept un-doing the nuts for the ball joint hence a night run to sal for a new cast one

I personally would stick with cast, another bonus is that muck and dirt etc don't sit on top of it as much as a pressed and don't rot it more. I am powerflexing my one's and have already got them from vagparts.

Cast bushes are a larger diameter (44mm against 37mm)so are a bit more up to the job.
