    Adjustable Camber plates

2Bennett in the states makes a beautiful adjustable camber/caster plate. It uses a monoball top mount.

Audi service, restoration, performance upgrades, parts and more. 2Bennett is a convenient and cost effective dealer alternative for all Audi years and models. Our 25 years of total focus exclusively on Audis means we understand how to diagnose and repair your Audi like no other. Extensive breadth of diagnostic resources and knowledge, from early examples to newest Audi models. Audi diagnostic equipment as well as parts access directly with Audi USA and Germany helps ensure efficiency and accuracy.

It would seem to require the bearing plate from the 100/200. I might also require reworking the strut turret which is different in our cars as compared to 100/200.

Any ideas if this will work on an S2? Anyone seen a camber plate made expressly for the S2? This might be another job for Martinjs

    H&R

There is a product solving the same problem although not as fancy . The link is to a swedish company but whats important is the product number, which I hope is a H&R-nr (HTC114). So just find your local H&R dealer to set you up with a kit

With this it is possible to get up to 3 degree negative camber, great for trackdays but perhaps not as good for everyday driving. Best part is the price which was 495:- Skr, about 35 quid I´d guess

I first planned to get it, but then decided to go for the more everday driving setup, although I´ll try to get as much negativ camber possible without it.

I know a man who has. If he can see one he should be able to make something but for £35 it's not worth it!

I'll be down in Wiltshire Flying in a micro light for the next couple of days. I am investigating having some ARB's made for the rear of the S2 a la Whiteline.

            Wish me luck.

I don't want to see this chap just yet!

If I don't post by Friday have a for me!

              David,

The comparison is with £280 = $495. The H&R works at the bottom of the strut and is not the same thing. If he could make something and the price was right, he could sell a few.

I would be interested in an even stiffer rear ARB. Keep us posted.

Good luck flying. I'll have a beer for you anyway

You mean that the top mounted one is more flexible allowing "on the run adjusting" or : scratch :?

Otherwise both pieces have the effect to adjust camber. Perhaps the more sofisticated one also can adjust the caster a bit? And more than -3 degrees camber that the H&R is capable of I cant see the use of. Recommended MAX value is -0.75 degrees (normal -0.45 +/-0.30).

But I definitely agree on that the more expensive one is a knocker for the eye AND probably allows for a simple way to adjust trackday setup and everyday setup. Hmmm I could be interested too

                cheers

Yeah, you got it. They both adjust camber to -3 which is fine. In addition the 2B allows you to change caster which is nice to have. But the best thing is the top mount of the 2B is a monoball like in full race cars. The rubber top mount will deform slightly in a high-g turn so camber will change depending on the load. With the H&R you can set camber down at the bolt but the top mount will still deform so it is not that predictable.

I talked to 2B yesterday. They told me that with the S2, their camber/caster plate only works with their own coilover struts. I am not convinced. I think if you use 2 parts from the S4 strut, it might work. But I am not sure I want to spend $500 bucks to find out.
