Frasers RS2 Complete VAG OEM BUSH Replacement (Booked In) (Bilsteins already done)

    Ladies & Gentleman

I have finally decided to replace the complete front and rear bushes to my RS2, so have purchased complete AUDI Genuine parts from my Audi Dealer, and my AUDI RS2 Specialist will be fitting them at some point next week!

I decided on the OEM VAG Bushes, as thats the way Porsche intended it, thats the way it drives quieter, thats the way its gonna sound like a newer car and not smashing its nuts off evertime I drive over a bump, and as i have 18" MTM Cup 1's the added harshness of the 245/35/18's its gonna keep nice and smooth for when I travel accross to the Nordsheife.

    What do u all think?

I do have a full set of 'New Shape' Powerflex Bushes complete in the packaging if someone wants them for readies, as my second RS2 in Volcano is COMPLETLEY ORIGINAL and it would be sacriledge or however u spell it, to change them for poly! lol

Comments people, what do u all think?

IMO there is nothing wrong with the OEM bushes unless you want to spend a LOT of time on track. My S2 feels great with decent OEM Bushes all round...

I concur. For the same reasons as you listed. I'm in the middle of my suspension rebuild and have replaced all the bushings with OEM Audi parts. I'm looking forward to hearing how yours turn out.

If you value refinement more than feedback then yes, oem bushings are the right choice. But if you have two RS2's why not modify one of them

            I agree,

with your OEM choice for a factory comfort ride which will be appropriate for the vast majority of the time.

I would assume on you visit to the Ring you will not notice or worry about the track orientation advantage poly bushes and alloy sub-frame bushes would endow the car with for the comparitively short time it will be on the track.

I'm sure you'll be more concerned with driving the track at 8 tenths and getting the around the track and safely back home, rather than trying to set the fastest time for an RS2 on the Ring. Leave that to other heroes with more money or less sense, or both.

Or I could have just said - I agree with your OEM choice,

but brevity is not always my strongest point.

Let us know what the improvement is when all of the bushes are replaced in one go with OEM bushes?

            Kind regards.

Ive been offered £12000 for ma car yesterday, and I turned the guy down as I love her and I have spent £6000 with AUDI on parts alone this year. If I do (if) its gonna ask about £15,000, as the car has full history, will be nearly 50 % brand new in terms of components, as since I have owned the car, if I can get the part NOS from Audi, they have been purchased and then changed. The parts list go on and on such as DIFF Switches, to ashtrays, Headlights, Tailgate Lights, Trims, Solenoids, Carpets, Nuts, Engine Panals, manifolds, MAF sensors, Shocks, bushes, random bolts and washers, Genuine RS2 Radio, etc etc

I cud only sell her if I had a Labotomy anyway. lol

                    There is no way,

you should even think of selling it, when it's that good.

Additionally what would you replace it with for the same money?

Keep it and continue to enjoy it.

                    Any photos?

                    Kind regards.

Isn't it crazy that the RS2 Avant can command such high prices (fair does this one has had a lot of recent TLC) yet a same age S2 Avant is treated like the poor ******* cousin with much less street prices being commanded. Oh the S2 is so expensive to run and parts are hard to find, yet the RS2 gets loadsamoney being asked for it... The RS2 is a derivative of the S2 Avant - THAT is the real daddy of this countries fascination with hotrodded Avants and yet its somehow 'so' inferior cos it lacks a few styling tweaks, that oomf in factory form, better brakes and of course the Porsche badge !

                      Credit crunch - my a.RS.e-2 !
