RS2 Tracking/Camber Settings with LOWERED SUSPENSION H&R/Bilsteins
RS2 Tracking/Camber Settings with LOWERED SUSPENSION H&R/Bilsteins
I am having complete OEM VAG bushes replaced on tuesday hopefully, and the top mounts to boot, but would like the right values for the tracking and camber etc, but values that would be correct for MY CAR, as mine is lowered, and also the fact that I will be using the car for fast road use, and the odd track day/nurburgring every year!
I always understood that when getting a car lowered that it skewed some suspension angles (camber mostly I suggest) and that realignment to factory specs is then required.
Zero toe at front is supposedly best all round for feel, response and tyre wear.
As much negative camber as you can get without getting so radical that you are eating the insides of tyres too quickly.
Theres a few suspension / setup gurus on here - I'd be hopeful of them chiming in with some more in depth and experienced advice for this kind of thing, but starting with factory specs is going to be a good baseline. Different people have different preferences and driving style so what works for one guy isn't necessarily perfect for the next......
Wasn't there a load of stuff about this on a thread that Lee did a few years ago???
Search function should bring it up?
Cheers,
Steve.

You can do it that way, but don't forget the bottom balljoint mounts are slotted for adjustment of camber...
Balljoints max to the outside gives max negative camber and more can be had by strut / hub carrier bolt positioning - subject to careful slotting of those if you want to get really radical.
